Pumpkin cake is an exceptional dessert for chilly winter days. Period-specific flavors will make you daydream the holidays that are approaching.
– 425g pumpkin puree
– 4 eggs
– 200ml sunflower oil
– 157ml water
– 600 g sugar
– 680g flour
– 2 teaspoons baking powder
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
– 1 teaspoon nutmeg
– 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
– 1/2 teaspoon ginger
Preheat oven to 180 ° C and grease two cake pans with butter and coat them with flour.
In a large bowl add pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, water and sugar to obtain a homogeneous composition.
In another bowl mix well the flour with baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger. Add this mixture over the content of pumpkin puree and mix well. Pour mixture into trays and bake for 50 minutes.
To ensure that it is baked, insert a toothpick in it. If the toothpick comes out clean, it means the cake is baked.
How to serve the pumpkin cake
Leave the cake to cool well before cutting. For a more pleasant aspect you can powder it with powdered sugar. Serve it with a cup of coffee or a cup of tea.
